Beginning at a very young and impressionable age, boys are often told, either by their families, society, or both, that they must reject all things feminine. In this project, I challenged men to share a personal story where they learned of something that boys “didn’t” or “should never” do. Their stories were documented and they were then photographed in the studio as they experienced for the first time what they had been told was forbidden.
